The Miami Heat equalized in the NBA Finals, winning the thrilling second game of the series against the Denver Nuggets. In Colorado Miami got a 111:108 on Sunday (June 4th, 2023, local time) despite being 15 points behind.
Ahead of the upcoming two games in Florida, the momentum is on the side of the Heat, who are the number eight seeded team in the Eastern Conference in the playoffs of the best basketball league in the world and since then had prevailed against all of the favored opponents.
It was the Nuggets’ first home playoff loss this season and their first since March 30.
Jokic with 41 points for the Nuggets
The 41 points and eleven rebounds by Nuggets star Nikola Jokic were not enough because the Heat temporarily made a lead of twelve points in the final quarter from eight points behind and could not be disturbed anymore. Gabe Vincent scored 23 points for Miami, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo each had 21 points.
“These are the finals. You have to win one away”said the Heat’s Adebayo.
The third game of the final series is in Miami on Thursday night. A team needs four wins to win the championship.
