Led by another outstanding Luka Doncic, defending champion Slovenia secured first place in the German group at the European Basketball Championship. The DBB team meets Montenegro in the round of 16.
After Luka Doncic’s next record show, the German basketball players finished the European Championship preliminary round group B in second place in the table, regardless of the outcome of their last group game against outsiders Hungary. Since European champions Slovenia beat France 88:82 (44:40) in Cologne on the fifth day of the game, the team has to play again sensationally NBA-Star Doncic First place for sure. France is third.
After the group phase, Slovenia is 4-1 victors, the selection of the German Basketball Association (DBB) can draw level with a success in the evening, but can no longer leave the defending champion behind due to the direct comparison. The Slovenians gave the DBB team the only defeat in the tournament so far on Tuesday (88:80).
On Saturday (6:00 p.m.) in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, the German team will meet third-placed teammates in Group A: Montenegro in the round of 16.
Eternal EM scorers: Doncic second
Doncic, who broke the Slovenian European Championship record with 36 points against the German team, increased the record to 47 on Wednesday. With that he Point Guard the Dallas Mavericks even Dirk Nowitzki, who scored 43 points against Spain in 2001.
