The constant
The man with the ten is an integral part of the Alba Berlin squad. Tim Schneider is rarely the focus, but delivers reliably when he is needed. In the close game timing between BBL and Euroleague, the Berliner is essential for Alba.more
A good start is not enough
As expected, coach Israel Gonzalez was without the injured Maodo Lo and Ben Lammers. Nevertheless, his team got off to a good start in front of 9,098 spectators. In a balanced first quarter, the Berliners were in the lead for a long time, but they could not break away by more than four points (22:18).
In the second half, the guests, who have former Alba coach Sasa Obradovic on the touchline, got into the game better. The Monegasques took the lead right at the beginning of the quarter. As much as Monaco turned up, Alba was now dismantling. Hardly a throw found its way into the basket of the guests. With a 2:18 run, the Berlin deficit continued to grow at half-time.
After the change of sides, Alba tried to come back and was able to keep the deficit at least in one digit for a short time (45:54). But Monaco was too strong, at the end of the third quarter the gap was already 22 points (51:73). Alba never recovered from this, and there was no catch-up in the final quarter.
