The German women’s national basketball team has qualified for a European championship for the first time since 2011. In the last European Championship qualifier, DBB won 92-61 (44-37) against Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Thus, the team of national coach Walt Hopkins completed the European Championship qualification as one of the four best runners-up.
The German team only conceded two points in the first four minutes and proved to be accurate in attack. After the first quarter, the DBB selection was 30:15 ahead. After that, the DBB women lost their rhythm and lost the ball seven times in the first three and a half minutes of the second half. Bosnia-Herzegovina reduced the difference to seven points at the break.
The turn came in the second half
In the third round, the German team scored easy points through numerous quick attacks, before the last quarter they pulled away to 68:49. In the last ten minutes, the DBB selection controlled the game. Leonie Fiebich excelled with 30 points.
The European Women’s Basketball Championship will be held in Israel and Slovenia from June 15th to 25th.
