Bonn wins in Oldenburg
The EWE Baskets Oldenburg remain without a win under their new head coach Alen Abaz: With 65:89 (34:38) the Lower Saxony drew the short straw at home against the Telekom Baskets Bonn. It was the third defeat under Abaz and the eighth defeat in a row. Oldenburg remains bottom of the table.
The guests ended the third quarter with a 19:4 run and pulled away to 63:48 before the final section. Bonn’s playmaker Parker Jackson Cartwright confirmed his recent strong form with 25 points.
FC Bayern maintains league lead
Bayern Munich’s basketball players remain leaders. The Munich team beat medi Bayreuth 83:60 (39:32) and now have a record of 14:4 wins. It was the sixth success in a row for Bayern across all competitions.
Bayern pulled away to 18:5 after five and a half minutes with a 14:0 run. Deshaun Thomas in particular started furiously and scored 13 of Munich’s first 21 points. After the hosts lost their rhythm a bit in the second quarter, they regained control of the game after the break.
