Basketball BBL: Tübingen vs. Munich – live ticker – 13th matchday – 2023/2024

  • 35.

    5:06 p.m

Despite the big lead, Francisco shows his class again and takes a difficult three-pointer. It goes up with ease and causes the net to wobble. This will most likely be one of his last actions.

  • 34.

    5:04 p.m

It should be noted that Munich’s rotation players like Weidemann and Harris definitely want to take advantage of their chance. But this also results in poor decisions due to players over-revving.

  • 32.

    5:00 p.m

Bayern still have players like Francisco and Lučić on the field. So Pablo Laso doesn’t want to rotate completely. He probably still has Tübingen’s run against the rotation players in his head during the game.

  • 31.

    16:59

Georgios Kalaitzakis can pick up the pace and then convert it with a nice Eurostep with an and-one. That was straight out of a picture book! Hopefully there will be several such actions in this game, which has probably already been decided.

  • 31.

    16:57

    Start of 4th quarter

  • 30.

    16:56

    Conclusion 3rd quarter:
There’s another highlight as the clock runs out! A long quarterback pass to Francisco actually leads to two points, but was that in time? The referees look at it closely and decide on two points. But even without these points, the lead for Munich would be extremely comfortable. Tübingen cannot match this quality and has enormous problems in the halffield.

  • 30.

    16:54

    End of 3rd quarter

  • 30.

    4:50 p.m

If things happen quickly, the Tigers can score. This is also the case here, when Seric can shine in the fast break. The problem is that this alone is not enough against strong Munich players.

  • 29.

    16:48

Tübingen no longer has any access at all and so Bayern lead with over twenty points. It probably won’t be long before Laso brings players in the back of the rotation into play.

  • 27.

    16:44

And if throws like that are thrown, how is Tübingen supposed to get there? Francisco doesn’t actually have an inch of space in the right corner, but he still manages to go up and somehow convert. Craziness!

  • 26.

    16:42

The guests are now also improving on defense. In the half-field offense it is very difficult for Tübingen to make good throws. They depend on the transition.

  • 24.

    16:39

Danny Jansson takes the time out because his team allows themselves to be taken by surprise again in this game. You can’t allow offensive rebounds against these Bayern, but you have to benefit from their missed throws.

  • 24.

    16:37

Andi Obst hits his three-point attempt with a foul! Of course, it’s difficult to keep up with this shooting quality.

  • 23.

    4:35 p.m

This time Seric catches the eye with a nice pass to Boeheim Jr, allowing them to close the deficit back to single digits. That’s something to behold!

  • 22.

    4:35 p.m

Booker gives Tübingen a three-pointer in the face. But Seric counters with a triple from the left. The big is often released on the perimeter, but he certainly knows how to take advantage of it.

  • 21.

    16:32

Booker gets blocked, but on the other hand there are quick points for Tübingen. The next attack doesn’t result in a basket either, which means the Tigers pick up the pace again and get to the line. Strong start for the home team!

  • 21.

    16:31

    Start of 3rd quarter

  • 20.

    16:18

    Half-time conclusion:
Pablo Laso’s team definitely deservedly lead 46:32 and only had a short phase of weakness when the Spanish coach let the young wild ones off the leash. There it became uncontrolled and there were a lot of turnovers, which Tübingen was able to convert into easy points. Then the experienced ones came back onto the floor and flexed their muscles, making the lead comfortable again.

  • 20.

    16:16

    End of 2nd quarter

  • 20.

    16:12

Andi fruit from outside! Tübingen can’t think of much and so it’s the Munich team who dominate the game again.

  • 18.

    4:10 p.m

The flow of the game is somewhat interrupted by a few fouls. Tübingen got to the line and was able to score.

  • 16.

    16:03

Pablo Laso brings his seasoned professionals back onto the field and the dynamics of the game are different. Obst was able to convert his first three-pointer from the corner and briefly put the lead back in double digits.

  • 15.

    16:02

Jackson almost commits a backcourt violation, but jumps to throw off the Weidemann standing in front of him and picks up the ball again. Then he moves into the zone and even scores. Strong play!

  • 14.

    16:01

What’s wrong with the people of Munich? After the timeout there is the next turnover, this time by Weidemann. Of course, this results in easy points again. Afterwards, Bayern commits the shot clock violation.

  • 13.

    15:58

We have a game! Jackson converts the next turnover with an and-one. Pablo Laso takes the time off and is not at all happy with his team. That was far too careless on the part of the guests in the last few minutes.

  • 13.

    15:57

Francisco first has to take a seat on the bench and gets a big whistle there.

  • 12.

    15:57

Kriss Helmanis is played under the basket and has the mismatch against Francisco there. He can use this for the next points. Then there is the turnover from the point guard, which is why Erol Ersek can march to the other basket and convert there with an and-one.

  • 12.

    3:55 p.m

Francisco was injured while fighting for the screen and the game was briefly interrupted. But it all looks like the Frenchman can continue playing.

  • 11.

    15:54

This is not how you imagined the start of the district to be. There is a quick loss of the ball, which gives Lučić the free dunk.

  • 11.

    15:53

    Start of 2nd quarter

  • 10.

    15:53

    Conclusion 1st quarter:
Bayern Munich started the game outstandingly and was able to take the lead early on thanks to a high percentage of three-pointers. Tübingen are clearly trying to keep up, but so far they have lacked the resources, even if things looked a little better at least offensively towards the end of the quarter. This is a good opportunity for guests to start the rotary machine.

  • 10.

    15:51

    End of 1st quarter

  • 10.

    3:50 p.m

This must not happen. Keppeler fouls Lučić completely unnecessarily during his three-point attempt, which is why he now goes to the line for three free throws. It smells like a debacle.

  • 10.

    3:48 p.m

Weidemann, who usually sees only a few minutes, can now enter the scoresheet with a three-pointer. A tailor-made start for the guests!

  • 9.

    3:48 p.m

Again it’s an actually safe lay-up that the Tigers don’t convert. Then there is the pass to Harris, who goes up to the basket and is cleared by Keppeler. However, it is a clear foul and the away player scores both free throws.

  • 8th.

    3:46 p.m

The guests are no longer quite as dominant as before. Nevertheless, the tour is of course still extremely comfortable.

  • 6.

    15:43

The next threesome goes back to Bolmaro. But then Seric counters with the Tigers’ first successful throw from outside!

  • 5.

    3:40 p.m

The home side have problems, especially with Booker. Regardless of whether he gets the ball in the post or in the corner, the Tübingen team cannot hold on to the forward.

  • 3.

    3:38 p.m

The 11-0 was too much for Danny Jansson, who took the time out. From the time-out, Georgios Kalaitzakis scores with a cut to the and-one for the underdog’s first points!

  • 2.

    3:34 p.m

Bayern are off to a strong start! Booker scores from the left corner for the nine-point lead. So far, Tübingen has not found a solution in either attack or defense.

  • 1.

    3:33 p.m

Leandro Bolmaro refined the first possession with a three-pointer from the center after nice preparatory work by Devin Booker, who worked out his position in the post and then served the guard. Then Danko Branković adds from outside.

  • 1.

    3:32 p.m

    Game start

  • 15:23

A win for the Munich team today would at least temporarily move them past ALBA Berlin into third place in the table. The Tigers, on the other hand, would draw level with the Braunschweiger Löwen and move further away from the bottom of the table in order to achieve their season goal of staying in the league.

  • 3:07 p.m

The Tigers also celebrated a win in their last BBL game. With the 99:92 win against the Bamberg Baskets, they collected their fourth win of the season and thus gained two games ahead of the relegation zone. Five players scored in double figures and Jimmy Boeheim Jr even scored 18 points. Despite their weak three-point rate, they ended up winning, thanks, among other things, to eleven steals and just as many offensive rebounds. It was an immensely important victory for the promoted team and today they have the next chance to cause a surprise against the big favorites before they head to Ludwigsburg to end the year.

  • 14:51

The fourth place in the table is visiting the 15th in the BBL. Bayern recently lost at home to Monaco, but with a comeback, which wasn’t enough due to a strong Mike James, they can leave the game with a positive feeling. The three wins in a row in the BBL certainly give them a positive feeling. This even includes a convincing win against the strong Ulm team. The victory in the BBL quarter-finals against Bonn wasn’t that long ago either. In general, Pablo Laso’s team has definitely arrived in the season!

  • 2:33 p.m

A warm welcome to the BBL this Boxing Day! On matchday 13, the Tigers Tübingen will face FC Bayern Munich at 3:30 p.m. in their home Paul Horn Arena.
