The Frankfurt Skyliners are finally stuck in the relegation battle of the BBL. After the defeat against the Academics Heidelberg on Wednesday evening (February 1st, 2023), things will get pretty tight.
With 82:94, the Frankfurters have five wins and 13 defeats and a 27.8 percent win rate and are therefore on a par with the penultimate Braunschweig. Thanks to their success, the people of Heidelberg climbed to twelfth place and, with 41.2 percent (seven wins, ten defeats), are firmly in midfield.
Lasisi best shooter of the evening
From the start, the Skyliners followed the music in their own hall, giving up the first quarter at 13:18 because there was little going on offensively. After that, the hosts caught themselves, before the beginning of the final quarter anything was possible again with a score of 65:68. But then Heidelberg got serious and continued to pull away, the last section went to the guests with 26:17.
In the end, Frankfurt had five shooters who finished in double figures: Center Matt Haarms (16 points), Lukas Wank (15), Laurynas Beliauskas (14), Isaiah Washington (13) and James Frazier (10). However, there were no outstanding scorers like Heidelberg, where Elias Lasisi scored 23 and Eric Washington 20 points.
