30

19:30

Quarter conclusion:
Before the last quarter, Berlin leads 70:58 against Ulm. In the third quarter, the Albatrosses were able to stop the guests again with concentrated defense. At the other end, key players Sikma and Lô found their rhythm to give a double-digit lead going into the final period.

29

19:26

Jaron Blossomgame is not having a good day so far, but he’s now scoring his first points with a highlight play. Sindarius Thornwell finds him on a backdoor cut from the left low post and Blossomgame reverse-dunks the ball into the net. Maybe that’ll get him into the game.

27

19:23

That was again played unselfishly by Berlin. They let the ball run well offensively and find Johannes Thiemann under the basket, who plays it out again to Yovel Zoosman in the left corner. Zoosman goes back to the basket and completes it with a floater from half-distance.

25

19:19

Now, however, Berlin is leading in double digits again. Again Luke Sikma can exploit his advantages in the left low post and this time he closes the basket himself. His lay-up is a bit too long, but Malte Delow was careful and put the offensive rebound into the net.

24

19:17

Ulm threatened to fall behind again, but Semaj Christon scored important points. Against Jaleen Smith he comes into the zone and cuts off the ALBA guard. Christon can finish with a floater over Christ Koumadje and is even fouled by Smith. Christon also sinks the additional bonus free throw and thus completes the and-one.

22

19:12

Well played by ALBA! Luke Sikma gets the ball in the left low post and pushes through the middle to the basket. As a result, he tightens the Ulm defense and finds Jaleen Smith standing outside. Smith passes the ball straight to Maodo Lô in the left corner, who can complete freely for three points.

21

19:09

The third quarter is running and right away in the first attack Ulm takes the lead thanks to a three-pointer from Thomas Klepeisz.

20

18:58

Mid-term conclusion:
After the first half, ALBA Berlin leads 43:42 against ratiopharm ulm. Berlin was able to take a 20-point lead at the beginning of the second quarter and benefited from many fouls by Ulm defenders. After Jaka Lakovič’s second time-out, however, the game turned and Berlin lost control completely. With a 22:3 run at the end of the second quarter, Ulm, led by Sindarius Thornwell, found their way back into the game.

19

18:50

Maodo Lô can stop a 14-0 run for Ulm. He creates space against Moritz Krimmer with a step-back and scores for three points from above.

18

18:48

Now the albatrosses have lost their rhythm. Christ Koumadje is released completely at the level of the free-throw line and takes a shot after a moment’s hesitation. The throw missed, but that’s probably not the desired conclusion of the Berliners.

16

18:44

After the break, Ulm gets back a bit thanks to points from Sindarius Thornwell. From the right wing he goes into the pull-up three-pointer and it sits. That’s a 7-0 run for Ulm through Thornwell.

15

18:40

20-point lead for Berlin! Malte Delow saves the ball on the right wing and Oscar da Silva fakes a block in the middle. This is the only way Delow gets a little too much space and shoots directly for three points. The throw also goes through the ring and Jaka Lakovič has to take the next time-out straight away.

14

18:37

Ulm has now completely lost the thread offensive. Semaj Christon takes up his dribbling centrally and then comes under a lot of pressure from Tamir Blatt. Before Christon can continue playing the ball, he moves his supporting leg and a step error is called. Jaka Lakovič takes the time-out to sort his team again.

13

18:34

Again a Berliner is allowed to go to the free-throw line. Jaleen Smith lays down on Oscar da Silva in the fast break, who is stopped with a foul by two players from Ulm. Da Silva converts both attempts from the line to a double-digit lead.

11

18:32

Berlin is now benefiting from a few too many fouls by the guests. Tamir Blatt attacks a close-out from Fedor Žugić from the right corner, who fouls him on a half-distance shot. Leaf is allowed to score easy points on the line, but only converts a free throw.

10

18:29

Quarter conclusion:
After the first quarter, Berlin leads 25:18 against Ulm. After a lively start, both defenses became a little more concentrated. Nevertheless, ALBA was able to pull away slightly at the end of the quarter.

10

18:27

There are now many fouls on both sides. Alba runs a play that cuts Luke Sikma to the basket and Tamir Blatt attempts to alley-oop him for a dunk. But Moritz Krimmer prevents the spectacle with a foul and Sikma makes a point from the line.

8th

18:20

Can ALBA now set itself apart? Ulm isn’t finding any good finishes on the offensive and on the other hand Tamir Blatt finds Luke Sikma rolling in the zone, where Moritz Krimmer fouls him. However, Luke Sikma then misses the second free throw.

6

18:17

Again, the Berliner Center is on the spot in defense. Sindarius Thornwell can collect his own miss in the zone and tries to go straight back up, but is blocked again by Christ Koumadje. Sean Evans can get the offensive rebound again and tries to pass to Philipp Herkenhoff on the left wing again, who is out of bounds when the ball is passed.

5

18:13

That was a courageous lay-up attempt by Fedor Žugić. With a pick-and-roll he gets into the zone from above and tries to close against Christ Koumadje. In this scene, however, he is a size too big and blocks Žugić’s shot on the ring.

3

18:10

It’s a lively start on both sides. Jaleen Smith puts the ball forward for Berlin on a fast break and the ball quickly runs through Malte Delow to Maodo Lô on the right wing, who converts completely open for three points.

1

18:07

The game starts with possession for Berlin, but also a good defense from Ulm. Jaleen Smith attacks the basket from the right corner, but is disturbed there and loses the ball.

18:04

In Berlin, Maodo Lô, Jaleen Smith, Malte Delow, Johannes Thiemann and Oscar da Silva are in the starting five. Semaj Christon, Thomas Klepeisz, Sindarius Thornwell, Jaron Blossomgame and Philipp Herkenhoff will start for Ulm.

18:01

After Rickey Paulding probably played his last game in the Mercedes-Benz Arena on Tuesday, it could also be Per Günther’s farewell performance today. It’s his last game against the Albatrosses, at least of the regular season.

17:57

With Berlin and Ulm, two last year’s playoff opponents also meet. The semi-final match ended with a 3-1 for ALBA. The first leg on the eighth matchday also went to the Albatrosses with a score of 71:66.

17:54

Ulm also has a tight game plan due to the catch-up game. After today’s game, we continue to Bamberg on Easter Sunday before flying to Badalona for the EuroCup Round of 16. That means three games in six days for Ulm. In the BBL you are currently in fifth place in the table, but you still want to get home rights in the first round of the playoffs. With a win you could overtake Berlin and be level on points with the third Ludwigsburg. Most recently, however, Ulm lost against this Ludwigsburg team with 61:74, before they were able to beat Heidelberg with 90:74 on Tuesday.

17:42

The Albatrosses are in fourth place in the BBL before the match on Good Friday and could displace Ludwigsburg in third place with a win. Due to the many remaining catch-up games, the Berliners are looking even further up and this is also confirmed by the current form. In April they again won three games in a row, most recently on Tuesday against a good team from Oldenburg with 92:86. But due to the many games, ALBA has a full schedule and has to travel to Göttingen again on Easter Sunday.

17:32

Hello and welcome to the 24th game day of the BBL! In today’s catch-up game, ratiopharm ulm is a guest at ALBA BERLIN. Tip-off is at 6 p.m. in the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
