Ben Lammers sank from his favorite distance. Louis Olinde attacks a close-out from the right wing but is stopped in the zone. However, he passes back to Ben Lammers, who can score freely from half-distance.

19:41

Key points from Caleb Homesley to halt the momentum for ALBA for now. Jaylon Brown attacks from the left wing down the middle and kicks out to the free-running Caleb Homesley for an open three-pointer down the right.

16

19:36

ALBA is picking up the pace again and is pulling away by ten points. Maodo Lô brings the ball forward down the left touchline and plays the pass to Oscar da Silva, who runs through to the basket and finishes with a crashing dunk at ringside.

15

19:33

In front, the towers award two three-point attempts in a row and then there are the points directly on the other side. Early in the attack, the ball runs through Luke Sikma to Yovel Zoosman on the left wing. The ALBA wing shoots directly and the ball goes through the ring.

13

19:30

Hamburg doesn’t really let Berlin pull away. Caleb Homesley comes in through a block and kicks the ball out to the left wing. There is Maximilian DiLeo, who pulls the trigger directly and scores three points.

12

19:27

It’s been a good game by Johannes Thiemann so far. After a pass from Tamir Blatt, he attacks Eddy Edigin through the middle and gets through to the basket. Edigin tries to get the ball out there, but Thiemann fouls it and can score two easy points on the line.

11

19:24

Caleb Homesley opens the second quarter with a three-pointer to hit. After a pass from Justus Hollatz, Yovel Zoosman gives him a little too much space on the right wing and Homesley punishes it directly.

19:21

Quarter conclusion:
Berlin leads after the first quarter with 28:21 against Hamburg. The Albatrosses punished some of the towers’ missed shots directly with quick points on the other side.

19:19

Berlin can settle first. After a failed lie-up by Kotsar, Blatt makes the game fast in the fast break. Under the basket he plays the Thiemann who has run in front with an excellent pass for just two points.

19:16

The interaction between Hollatz and Kotsar works excellently again in the first quarter. From above, Hollatz comes through a block on the left and then finds Kotsar with a ground pass, who cuts to the basket for a finish in the ring.

7

19:13

The Towers can equalize. Johannes Thiemann’s hand-off is intercepted by Justus Hollatz and he can finish alone in the fast break by dunking.

5

19:11

That’s a bit too easy for Berlin. Sikma keeps the ball on the left wing and looks for a gap in the Towers defense. Off the ball, Smith gets a block from Lammers and is able to pull away from Hollatz. He gets the pass from Sikma in the zone and puts the ball into the net unchallenged.

4

19:08

The Albatrosses take the lead. First Maodo Lô looks for a pass in the zone, but the Towers close it under the basket. But the ball goes to Malte Delow on the left wing, who pulls the trigger for three points.

2

19:06

Well played by ALBA! Jaleen Smith gets a block from Oscar da Silva on the right wing, which then quickly rolls to the basket. Smith puts a ground pass through to da Silva, who then finishes the basket with a dunk.

1

19:02

Oscar da Silva wins the jump ball for Berlin, but the albatrosses start with a ball loss directly in the first attack. Maodo Lô tries the pass to Luke Sikma in the left low post, but Maximilian DiLeo easily intercepts the ball.

19:00

Maodo Lô, Jaleen Smith, Malte Delow, Luke Sikma and Oscar da Silva will start for Berlin. Maximilian DiLeo, Caleb Homesley, Jaylon Brown, Seth Hinrichs and Maik Kotsar start near Hamburg.

18:55

The first leg in Hamburg went to the Albatrosses. In a tight game with a total of 17 lead changes, the Berliners were able to prevail 88:80.

18:52

Of course, the EuroLeague participant from Berlin is going into the match as a favorite, but ALBA coach Israel González knows that there are no easy opponents in store today: “Hamburg play with high intensity and are one of the best defensive teams in the league. They showed how strong they can be in the win against Bayern Munich on Sunday.”

18:47

Could today’s game be repeated in the playoffs. With the current standings, Berlin and Hamburg would also be opponents in the first round. The two teams faced each other in the quarter-finals last year, in which the later champions from Berlin won the series 3-0.

18:42

For Hamburg, a lot is currently looking like another playoff participation. The Towers are just one win away from their last three games to ensure they’re back after the regular season. If Bamberg loses in Heidelberg on Friday, the playoff ticket would be certain even if they lost today. With 18 wins, Hamburg is seventh in the table. They’re already two wins up and two wins down, so the Towers could easily end up in seventh place. The last game could give hope for a chance in the playoffs. On Sunday, the Towers beat Munich 87:83 in a tight game in front of their home crowd.

18:36

Berlin would like to secure the playoff home advantage on this matchday. A win in today’s game and a defeat by Ulm against leaders Bonn would already secure a place in the top four. But the second in the table from Berlin has higher goals for the rest of the regular season, namely the top position. Only two wins are missing in Bonn, but they still have three catch-up games in which they can catch up with the Rhinelanders. The winning streak of the albatrosses in the BBL grew to seven on the last day of the game. There, Berlin clearly won 89:57 against Bamberg and thus against the team that could still contest the playoff participation of today’s opponent.

18:27

Have a nice evening and welcome to the 33rd matchday of the BBL. In today’s game, ALBA BERLIN welcomes the Hamburg Towers. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. in the Mercedes-Benz Arena. Have fun reading along!
