The Munich team impressively back in the duel for the German championship and win game four in Ulm. The decision was thus postponed.

The basketball players of FC Bayern Munich initially averted the impending title-KO and forced a fifth final game for the German championship. The Munich played the fourth game in best-of-five mode at Ratiopharm Ulm surprisingly clearly with 67:53 (32:32) and equalized in the final series to 2-2. The decision is made on Thursday in the Munich SAP Garden.

The Ulm fight for their second championship after 2023. The Munich star ensemble of coach Gordon Herbert, who sensationally led the German national team two years ago, continues to threaten a title season. Instead of a fiasco, there could now be a big comeback for the millennial project from the Isar.

Three days after the dramatic 81:79 in the third game in Munich, the Ulmer could not rely on their remarkable home strength this time. They had lost only one game of the season in the league and in the playoffs in their own hall – in December against Heidelberg.

The most successful thrower of the Ulm players in a playing but also torn game was Nelson Weidemann with 13 points. At Bayern, Shabazz Napier came up to 15 points. The hosts were too many ball losses and misconceptions. In the second quarter they turned an interim ten-point deficit. The Munich team sometimes weakened on the freewurfine. In the final section, however, the Ulm collapsed completely.

At least one of her two young stars who are on the go to the NBA was available to the Ulmers this time: Ben Saraf. The 19-year-old contributed six points and was celebrated particularly frenetically by the fans in the witch kettle in Neu-Ulm. On the other hand, the Swabians had to do without Noa Essengue. Saraf and Essengue have good chances at the draft of the North American professional league on Wednesday (local time) in New York to be selected by a club in the first round.

Before the final series, the appointment collision had caused a violent dispute between the Ulmen on the one hand as well as the league and the Bavaria on the other. The league had rejected an application by Ulm to relocate the games four and five with reference to the game regulations.
