A dream that came true for Myron van Brederode on Sunday. The nineteen-year-old attacker started surprisingly in the base at AZ against Go Ahead Eagles and determined the 2-0 final score just before time. “That’s what you dream of.” That meant a lot of interviews for Van Brederode afterwards.
It all started for Myron van Brederode in the youth of SV Overbos from Hoofddorp. In recent years he played in the youth academy of AZ and now for the first time in the base of the Alkmaar main force. This was also partly due to the lack of star player Jesper Karlsson. The Swedish attacker has been injured for a while.
“Bar set high”
Trainer Pascal Jansen had Van Brederode come in a few times in recent weeks and now he gave the talent the chance to start from the first whistle. “He has set the bar very high.”

Surprising
Van Brederode’s starting position was somewhat surprising, he also thought that by the way. “I was surprised, although I did get some signals.” The Hoofddorper heard the news that he started in the base from his trainer on Saturday.

On Thursday, Van Brederode and his teammates can turn a 1-0 deficit against Dundee United into a win. That is the return of the third preliminary round of the Conference League. AZ – Dundee United start at 9 p.m.
