BASF shares rise slightly: entry into further wind farms in the North Sea is planned

The chemical company BASF is participating in another wind farm project in the North Sea.

BASF wants to take over a 49 percent stake in the German offshore wind farms Nordlicht 1 and 2 from the Swedish energy supplier Vattenfall, as the two companies announced on Tuesday. A corresponding declaration of intent was signed. BASF wants to use almost half of the electricity from the wind farms to supply its production sites in Europe, especially at its headquarters in Ludwigshafen. The wind farms are expected to be fully operational in 2028 and have a total capacity of 1.6 gigawatts. Financial details were not disclosed.

The BASF share has now risen by 0.37 percent to 43.57 euros via XETRA.
