Baseball: Walking stick excels in big Pirates victory

Sicnarf Loopstok had an important part in Amsterdam Pirates’ third win in a row. He scored two runs, including a homerun and helped three teammates to a run as a batter. Sharlon Schoop also hit a homerun. With that, Pirates today won 8-3 vs. Neptunus.

After a break of more than two weeks, due to the Haarlem Baseball Week, major league baseball returned this week. The Amsterdam baseball players were three times too strong for the Rotterdam competitor. HCAW, the other North Holland team in the top four, defeated Twins Oosterhout three times. With that, the Bussum-squad passes Neptunus and HCAW is second (26 points) behind Pirates (28 points).

In the other group, where the bottom five teams from the first half of the season are located, the ranking is led by PhD student RCH (28 points). The Heemstedelingen are closely followed by Hoofddorp Pioniers (26 points) and DSS/Kinheim (ditto).
