The German national baseball team confidently reached the quarter-finals at the European Championships in the Czech Republic.
In the last of the three preliminary round games in Group D, national coach Jendrick Speer’s team won against Switzerland 15:5 on Tuesday evening and finished the group phase undefeated in first place ahead of Israel. France awaits in the round of the last eight on Thursday.
After Germany was already leading 5-0 in the second of nine innings, the Swiss woke up and promptly reduced the lead to 4-5. Eric Brenk and Co. didn’t let this deter them and ultimately achieved an unchallenged victory.
