Reporters Bas van Sluis and Lyanne Levy from Dagblad van het Noorden received the important Dutch journalistic prize De Tegel on Monday evening.
They received it for their reporting on the parliamentary inquiry into gas extraction under the title ‘Verhoor Rutte is a total deception’.
Van Sluis took the opportunity to say in his response that the Netherlands should not forget the people in the earthquake zone. ‘This prize is good for us, but especially for Groningen itself’.
He denounced the fact that the annual overview compiled by RTL Nieuws, which was shown during the gala around the award ceremony, did not mention the gas extraction file.
