Jan Uriot is surprised about the way in which Bas Smit handles criticism. The star journalist of Privé argues that the influencer cannot stand that at all. “What does Nicolette van Dam see in him?!”
Bas Smit is regularly under fire. The influencer consciously chooses to be a very tall tree, but of course that also includes some headwind. For example, there was a lot of buzz about a number of events he organized and Mark Koster recently suggested that Bas would have bought his first place in some influencer list.
In the hundred
How does Bas react? ‘Irritated’, says De Telegraaf. ‘F*cking evil’, Yvonne Coldeweijer even says. Not very handy, of course, because celebrities with a low resilience often only get more negativity over them.
Telegraaf presenter Wilson Boldewijn punctually in the section What does Jan think that Bas and his wife Nicolette van Dam will continue with their summer event De Amsterdamse Zomer, despite all the controversy. “That went completely wrong, but they just keep going.”
Nasty Bass
According to Wilson, it was a true ‘debacle’. “What was it again? You couldn’t order a drink or something, could you?”
Colleague Jan Uriot: “No, the bar services were gone or something. I do not know anymore. And the sound was not good. Everything was wrong. There were no toilets and so on. Then he reacts very nasty when criticized. He doesn’t take criticism well.”
‘He plays!’
Wilson to that: “No, while he always plays the cheerful Frans. With an emphasis on play.”
Jan is surprised that he is with Nicolette. “There are a lot of people who absolutely love him, because he is a happy little man, but he is so different from them. Nicolette is of course very different.”
Cake shelf
Nicolette is really nice, says Jan. “I sometimes eat a sandwich in that brasserie there in the Cornelis Schuytstraat and she is a very sweet woman.”
“It is so completely different from what it actually is. Then I think: how can that be together? Well, apparently it works.”
