To register newcomers
Trabzonspor are on the verge of signing ex-Dortmund’s Marc Bartra. After both Spanish and Turkish media reported on negotiations between the Süper Lig champions and Real Betis in the past few days, the 31-year-old centre-back’s deal is now on the home stretch.

Manuel Pellegrini, coach of the Spanish first division club, confirmed this at the press conference ahead of the LaLiga game against FC Elche on Sunday (quoted via “Mundo Deportivo”): “Marc has spoken out in favor of leaving in the past few days. It was finally decided and he will no longer be part of the squad this year.” Bartra, whose contract runs until 2023, is reported to be traveling to north-eastern Turkey on Sunday and will be presented afterwards. Information about the transfer varies between 4 to 5 million euros in Spanish media and 1.25 million euros in Turkey.
Bartra switched to Real Betis in winter 2018 after a year and a half at BVB and has played 146 games (7 goals/2 assists) for the Verdiblancos since then. The Spaniard’s sale is necessary to register the newcomers to LaLiga. With Luiz Felipe (25), Luiz Henrique (21) and Willian José (30), all three newcomers to the squad are missing on Monday. Joaquín (41), Claudio Bravo (39) and Andrés Guardado (35), who renewed their contracts this year, are also not yet eligible to play.
