The Romagna rider from UAE crashed at the Tour of Poland in August and continues to make progress
He can be defined as a miracle worker: Filippo Baroncini risked his life this summer in a serious fall at the Tour of Poland, but the worst is behind him and the Uae Italian from Romagna, teammate of Tadej Pogacar, is preparing to return to the group in 2026. Meanwhile on Sunday on the hill of Santa Lucia alla Castellina, at the Monastery of the Carmelite Fathers thanks to the hospitality of Fathers Nicola and Francesco, home of the Spiritual Center of National Cycling and the Filotex Museum, was awarded the 21st Coraggio e Avanti Award. Among the other winners were Fabio Baldato (Golden Admiral), sporting director of Pogacar’s Uae, and – with the award named after Gastone Nencini – Stephen Roche, who in 1987 won the Giro, Tour and World Championship (like only Merckx and Pogacar). Azzurri d’Italia Memorial Alfredo Martini to Giambattista Baronchelli, to the reconfirmed coach of the Under 23s Marino Amadori the “Franco Ballerini”, Damiano Caruso was awarded the Memorial Edo Gelli for the Over 35s.
