A barn near Haule, just across the Drents-Frisian border near Veenhuizen, partly collapsed after an explosion this evening. This is reported by the Fryslân police.
The explosion on Polderweg started a fire in the barn. Fire brigades from Assen and Veenhuizen have been called up for extinguishing and further support. An air ambulance has also been dispatched.
Surely someone would have been injured. Emergency services, including police officers in bulletproof vests, have cordoned off the area.
