A fire broke out on Halvemaanweg in Emmen last night. The fire probably started in a car and then spread to a thatched shed.
According to a spokesperson for the Drenthe Safety Region, that barn is ablaze. Several corps are in Emmen to extinguish the fire. Next to the barn is a farmhouse. The fire brigade was able to prevent the flames from spreading to the house.
The cause of the fire is not yet clear.
