Barely one day later, another arson at primary school in Charleroi, De Croo: “Totally unacceptable” | Domestic

LOOK. De Croo also responds to the arson in Charleroi: “We will do everything we can to identify the perpetrators and prosecute them.”

The fire brigade arrived on the scene around 2 o’clock in the morning. “Thanks to the quick intervention of the fire brigade, the damage was limited,” the police said. The fire was started in the school in the municipality of Monceau-sur-Sambre.

The local police confirm that it is arson, but also say that there is no connection with the four arson attacks the night before. There is not a single graffiti referring to ‘Evras’, in full ‘Education à la vie relationnelle, affective et sexuelle’. Or in Dutch: ‘sexual education’. The public prosecutor’s office also confirms that there is no connection. There is no graffiti and it is not a municipal school.

The Parliament of the French Community recently approved the Evras Decree on sexual, relationship and feelings training. Such training is provided from this school year onwards from sixth grade to fourth year of secondary school. However, the lessons are controversial in some circles – including the Islamic community – and are dismissed as “sexual propaganda”.

De Croo: “Totally unacceptable”

Prime Minister Alexander De Croo has now called the arson “totally unacceptable”. He emphasizes that the right to sexual education cannot be doubted. “We will do everything we can to identify the perpetrators and prosecute them,” the Prime Minister said on Instagram. “As a father, I am shocked by the arson in schools in Wallonia. Something like that is completely unacceptable. A school should be a safe place for all children.”
