Pig farmers could register until last Saturday for a voluntary buy-out scheme. But of the more than 360 West Flemish farmers who are eligible, only 90 have registered. Due to the low response, there is budget left over. Flanders is now looking into whether other pig farmers can also qualify for compensation.
