In office between 2003 and 2005, he was inserted in extremis as the disputed crimes would not have been statute-barred
The Spanish Public Prosecutor’s Office presented today the complaint for the “Negreira case” at the Investigation Court of Barcelona. The Public Prosecutor, after several days of investigation, formalized the indictment for the Catalan club, Enríquez Negreira, Josep María Bartomeu, Oscar Grau, Albert Soler and Sandro Rosell. The former manager Rosell has been included in extremis in the list of suspects, thanks to the interpretation of the legislation that will then have to be analyzed in court, referring to the fact that the alleged crimes of which he is accused have not been statute-barred.

The allegations are of corruption. The money that Negreira raised was intended to “favor Barça in the decision-making process of the referees in matches played by the club”. It should be recalled that following an inspection by the Treasury for payments received by Negreira between 2016 and 2018, at the request of the Revenue Agency, Barcelona delivered 33 invoices with the description “preparation and sending of technical videos to club” or “technical video consultancy. During this period, a total of 1,685,142.8 euros were paid to the company “Dasnil 95 Sl”, but according to “El Confidencial”, the total payments to the Negreira company since 2001 are amounted to 6,659,488 euros, which would cover the mandates of Gaspart, Laporta, Rosell and Bartomeu. From the outset it was assumed that the prosecution’s complaint was closely related to the two years covered by the first study by the Revenue Agency ( from 2016 to 2018), for which the only one of the four former presidents indicated that would have been denounced would have been Bartomeu. The club, as a legal person, could be condemned with penalties ranging from a fine to dissolution if a judge found him guilty.
