Head coach of Barcelona Xavi arrived at the helm of the club he loved in early November.
Since then, there has been a clear pick-up in the team’s performances, but at least based on Thursday, there is still a lot of work to be done.
Xavi had outlined that winning the Europa League would be the main goal this season. That goal dropped spectacularly in the semi-finals when Eintracht Frankfurt went on to conquer Camp Nou with a 3-2 win.
The semi-finals had a catastrophic start for the home team when Eric García turned to the guests Jesper Lindstrømin on his back with a grip. Portuguese judge Artur Dias pointed the ball at the comma from which Filip Kostic cannoned the guests into the lead.
As the opening round ended in a 1-1 draw, the Serbian goal was an advantage for the German team
It doubled in just over half an hour of play. This time Kostic served the ball Rafael Borrélle. The home team’s defense canceled too much and let the Colombian tune his horse kick.
Borré’s huge cannon from 25 meters sank pretty in the middle because its power was simply too much for the goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegenille.
End letter too late
Xavi tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn’t get past the visitors’ defenders Frenkie de Jongin to the field. At the hour came Adama Traoré and Sergiño Dest.
Nothing helped.
When Kostic fired each other in the evening in the 67th minute, the whole of Barcelona’s project was secured. The scale of the defeat is that of even the club president Joan Laporta has to rethink his position.

Xavi was an excellent player, but his display as head coach is still questionable. Under his leadership, Barcelona has been eliminated from the Champions League, the Spanish Cup and now the Europa League.
In the domestic La Liga, the team’s championship chances disappeared even before Xavi arrived.
Barça skipper Sergio Busquets opened the final race of the hosts with his long haul already with the extra time given by the referee. Memphis shot the final numbers 3–2 from the comma as early as the 11th extra minute.
– This is a great pity. Regardless of the outcome, we played well, but made three mistakes. The opponent punished them. You can’t afford them in these matches, topper Ronald Araújo said to Cadena Ser.
– We should have been more patient. It would have been important to win this race, but we failed, the Uruguayan continued.

Mourinho to continue
Frankfurt will face West Ham in the semi-finals, which defeated Lyon 0-0. Londoners continue their European dream with common goals 4–1.
On the side of the conference league, AS Roma washed its face by overthrowing Bodø / Glimt in northern Norway 4–0. Thus, the loss of 1-2 in the opening section turned into Gialloross’ semi-final with 5-2 goals.
Roma koutsi José Mourinho will return to England for a moment as the team play their semi-finals against Leicester. The foxes were knocked out on Thursday by PSV Eindhoven 2-1.
