UEFA will not officially validate the FC Barcelona license until mid-June
The highest body of European football has sent the documentation to all the teams with options to play in the Eurotournaments of the 2023-24 academic year
On paper, the FC Barcelona will be able to play the 2023-24 edition of the Champions League. The Barcelona club has received the documentation to register in the European competition, although its participation, officially, will not be formalized until mid-June.
The Barcelona board maintains moderate optimism after obtaining the UEFA licensea sign that, for now, the European football body does not contemplate any sanction against FC Barcelona derived from the ‘Negreira Case’.
It should be remembered that UEFA, at the end of March, opened an investigation against the Barça entity for said case and explained that it opened proceedings for a possible “violation of the legal framework”.
The documentation sent by UEFA has reached all the clubs with options to take part in the next editions of the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.
