Almost three hours after Luis Rubiales announced that he will not submit his resignation as president of the Spanish Federation for the non-consensual kiss to Jennifer Hermoso, Barça appeared to release its first official statement on this matter. He does not demand the resignation of the federation leader, although he does consider his performance in the final of the last women’s World Cup in Sydney, won by the Spanish team, “improper and unfortunate”.
Girona was the first Catalan First Division club to issue a message against Rubiales and it did so on Thursday night, even before the Assembly was held, demanding “zero tolerance for any manifestation of machismo or that threatens the freedom of the people”.
Espanyol was the second to issue its message, just after the Assembly, insisting that the attitudes of the president of the Federation “are unacceptable and improper and, once the explanations have been heard, they move us to demand the immediate dismissal or dismissal of the President by the bodies empowered to do so”.

Then, Barça appeared, who indicated that “it seems that the explanations given by the president of the Federation, Mr. Rubiales, have been sufficient for the members of the Assembly present, who had the power to ratify him in office”.
The Barça club does not demand, at any time, the resignation of the leader, although it does “want to make it clear” how it describes its performance. “The president’s actions during the World Cup are totally inappropriate and unfortunate”, while considering “an error and for which he apologized”, describing them as “unjustifiable facts” and, in addition, Barça maintains its “line of supporting sport feminine”.
