The situation surrounding Robert Lewandowski is still not calming down. The future of FC Bayern’s top scorer is uncertain. Barça is considered a candidate. But what about the current reports?
FC Barcelona has denied media reports of an alleged meeting with Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski’s advisor. “I can assure you that there was no meeting with Lewandowski’s representative. If a player has a valid contract, we first contact his club,” said football director Mateu Alemany on Sunday evening on the Movistar+ television channel.
Meanwhile, Alemany did not want to say anything about possible talks with the German record champions about a change of the 33-year-old Polish striker to the Catalans: “I don’t like to report on ongoing negotiations,” he explained on the sidelines of the game of national goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen’s team RCD Mallorca (2-1).
Lewandowski’s contract with FC Bayern expires in June 2023. Recently there was speculation about a premature farewell to FC Barcelona. Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic recently said: “He has a contract until June 30, 2023. We will now hold talks and see how they develop.”
