Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport has returned to normal operations shortly before 7:00 p.m. this Monday afternoon, after at 6:00 p.m. it was reported that diversions and delays of aircraft due to the presence of drones in the zone.
This has been reported by Aena, the public company that manages Spanish airports, on its official Twitter account, after having worked jointly with the Civil Guard and Enairethe public entity that manages the airspace, to restore operations.
Civil Guard sources have told EP that several patrols, together with the Pegaso team, have inspected the area and no drone foundso operations have been able to return to normal.

For the moment, Aena has specified that the incident has resulted in the restriction of arrival flights, so that until 7 planes have had to be moved so far to other airports.
The diversions, as well as the delays in the departure time of other planes that had to depart for Madrid from other locations, have been caused by Security issueswhich would have been threatened by the presence of drones.
