Bono, known as the frontman of the band U2, said in British on the BBC radio channel about his special evening, as a result of which he went to the official residence of the President of the United States, i.e. the White House.

At the time of the events, the country’s president was Barack Obama and the British musician was visiting the White House with his wife, Irish activist Ali Hewson.

Obama mixed cocktails for the party, which according to Bono were so strong that it didn’t take long until the rocker started to feel quite sleepy.

Bono later explained that the sudden drowsiness was due to his rare salicylate allergy. It apparently caused the man to have an allergic reaction to red wine sulfite, which made his head “swell like a balloon” and make him fall asleep.

– The president asked my wife where Bono went. He replied that I’m sleeping, which Obama was very puzzled by.

The wife swore that Bono’s naps would last no more than ten minutes. Together they set out to look for the sleepy rocker, who was found in a deep sleep in one of the rooms of the house.

– Obama woke me up and laughed until he stopped. Nowadays, he tells the story that he drinks me under the table, and doesn’t believe this allergy story, Bono commented on the matter.
