The street artist Banksy unveiled this Tuesday, Valentine’s Day, a mural in the coastal town of margatesouth-east England, which shows a woman with a black eye and which has been interpreted as a plea against gender violence.

The work of the quoted graffiti artist and activist, whose identity remains shrouded in mystery, used an abandoned freezer to pretend that the woman in the mural, with a missing tooth, had thrown a man into the appliance.

The freezer, however, was removed a few hours after Banksy confirmed his authorship of the work by posting a photograph of the work on his Instagram account.

The mural had appeared Monday morning on the back of a building in the grosvenor place street, that is going to give to the beach of the English locality.

Banksy’s publication on the social network, which accumulates more than a million “likes”, includes a close-up of the woman’s battered face, under the heading “Valentine’s Day Mask.”

The graffiti artist has painted several murals in the english county of kent, whose coasts are the closest of the island of Great Britain to the European continent.

In 2017, he executed a large painting in Dover in which he represented a worker removing one of the yellow stars from the flag of the European Union (EU), in reference to Brexit.

Some experts came to value that work at one million pounds (1.13 million euros), although two years later it ended up being erased with white paint.
