Bam Margera says that he became ill with alcoholism because of Ville Valo

Jackass star Bam Margera has long suffered from various substance abuse and mental health problems. Margera has already been in court-ordered rehabilitation for a year, from which she is not allowed to leave independently.

Now Margera is appearing in public for the first time in a long time and sharing her Jackass colleague Steve-O’s a.k.a by Stephen Glover in the podcast openly about his experiences with his addiction.

Towards the end of the podcast, Glover inquires about the root causes of Magera’s substance abuse. The skater has a surprising answer to this: Ville Valo.

Margera says that she was 24 years old when she met Valo. She admired the HIM frontman so much that she was ready to do everything just like him.

– If he bought a pack of cigarettes, I bought one too. If he was drinking, I was too. If he drank a shot of sambuca, so did I.

He says that he admired how all Valo had to do was walk the streets of Finland and people fainted around him.

For a turning point, he recounts the morning when he saw Valo open a can of beer right after waking up. Margera had never seen anyone do that before.

– He asked if I wanted too. I said I wouldn’t let him drink alone, but this is crazy. It was the first time I drank during the day.

Getting drunk in the middle of the day and during the week blew Margera’s mind. He had always thought of drinking as a Friday night pastime.

Decades after the incident, the friendship with Valo has dried up and Glover also knows that the Finnish rocker is now sober.

– That’s what I’ve heard from my Finnish friends, Margera continues.
