The Baltic Sea Cooperation Council has suspended Russia from membership over Russia’s recent attack on neighboring Ukraine. All other members of the Baltic Sea Council have decided to exclude Russia for the time being.
The council was established thirty years ago to work together for the benefit of the Baltic Sea and the region. The members are in addition to the suspended Russia, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Norway, Iceland and Sweden and the European Union is also participating as a member.
