The loss is sour given the excellent form of Jong AZ. Maarten Martens’ team won four games in a row. Due to the loss against Roda JC (0-1) the Alkmaarders drop to place twelve in the first division.

Trainer Martens saw his team mainly fall short in the attacking game. Rarely did his players create a chance against Roda JC. “Tough match”
Beau Reus could agree with the words of his trainer. “I noticed pretty quickly that it was going to be a difficult game.” The Alkmaar goalie saw his team combine mainly in his own half and almost not near the penalty area on the other side of the field.

After the loss against Roda JC, Jong AZ hopes to straighten its back on Friday. Although that will be quite a challenge, because the young Alkmaarders are going to Drenthe for a confrontation with leader FC Emmen.
