Balenciaga returns to its original corporate headquarters at 10 Avenue George V in Paris.
The fashion house told Women’s Wear Daily that there will also be new offices and a plaque on the facade that clarifies the historical importance of the building. The additional space on the building’s six floors will be used by creative director Demna and his teams, as well as Balenciaga’s couture and ready-to-wear studios. The spaces will be outfitted with high-tech updates and modern touches like dark smoked glass walls and are expected to be completed by the end of this year.
The founder of the brand, Cristóbal Balenciaga, settled at 10 avenue George V. in 1837. He lived and worked there and also presented collections until 1968. The place was so special that he named his perfume Le Dix after it.
