Alba Berlin wants to defend the first title of the season at the weekend. Then the TOP FOUR cup rises in Oldenburg.
The first BBL press conference with Bayern managing directors took place on Wednesday Marco Pesic and Alba manager Marco Baldi. The two teams will face each other in the semifinals on Saturday (7:30 p.m.).
Marco Baldi on …
… fan support: We have around 1000 Berlin fans in Oldenburg with us, we couldn’t do more. We have more than exhausted our contingent because we have a few very resourceful people there.
… the goal: We’re playing Bayern in the semi-finals and of course we want to go to the final. But we’re always confident, we’ll see the reality on Saturday.
… again and again Bavaria: Nothing wears out there. I honestly didn’t like Bayern’s result against Hamburg on Tuesday. There will be a completely different team on the court against us. They know what’s at stake.
… the weakening Bavarians: I’ve seen Bayern very stable over the past few weeks. They always played with a high intensity. Against Hamburg it was an unusual slip. Anything is possible in a game like this.
Bayern Managing Director Pesic on …
… his team: We lack consistency. There are probably 1000 reasons for this. Recently there was a terrible game at home against Hamburg. Still, I’m really looking forward to Saturday. There are no excuses. It’s a do-or-die game. And for us it is also an opportunity to make amends.
… the heavy bankruptcy against Hamburg: That’s definitely still an issue. But maybe it will unleash powers. We’re mentally and physically not there at all. We have to do a lot of work to correct that as much as possible. Nobody was spared against Hamburg for Saturday.
