The basketball players of Basketball Academy Limburg (BAL) will try to extend their season in their own hall on Friday.
In Sporthal Boshoven in Weert, in the play-offs of the BNXT-League, the battle will be fought with Yoast United, a team that turned out to be quite well prepared for BAL last Tuesday.
Light Favorite Roll
In Bemmel, the home of Yoast, both teams did not miss anything in the first leg: 82-82. A result that was quite in line with the outcome of the regular season, which rounded BAL by three points more than Yoast. The formation from Weert, coached by Radenko Varagic, can therefore be seen as a slight favorite for this diptych.
Talent
Many eyes will once again be focused on the Limburg trump card in the Limburg team: three-point shooter Sander Hollanders. De Kerkradenaar was elected last week as the Netherlands’ greatest talent in the competition and last season had an important share in BAL’s memorable national cup win. Opponent then in the final? Yes, Yoast United.

Friday’s confrontation is also the last chance for BAL to add shine to the current season. Because when Yoast takes the win, the vintage for the team from Weert is over. If BAL comes out as the winner, then in the second round of the play-offs a confrontation with the Zwolle Landstede Hammers or Zeeuw&Zeeuw Feyenoord Rotterdam awaits.
