Former football players Piet Keur and Barry van Galen regularly took a yellow or red card. The most famous red card was when Van Galen punched referee Luinge in the stomach. “Barry immediately called me to see if it could be seen on TV. I said I didn’t see anything, but I’m sure you hit him,” says a laughing Keur.
Piet Keur also got a red card years ago when he gave the referee a push. “He flew all the way back. I then got five games,” said Keur.

Van Galen also once gave a blow to Feyenoord player Alexander Östlund. In a fresh Bakkie Pleur, both men also discuss this red card. “I hit it on his chin. It irritated me,” says Van Galen.
