In a fresh Bakkie Pleur, former football players Barry van Galen and Piet Keur tell two special anecdotes. One is about a disturbance at AZ that got completely out of hand. The other is about John Rep who had to hand out figures for De Telegraaf.

Van Galen tells about a disturbance in the players tunnel between Max Huiberts and Jerry de Jong. AZ coach Willem van Hanegem tried to calm things down, but that didn’t really work.
The fight even spread to the players’ home in the Alkmaarderhout. “That was a massacre in the players’ home. It looked like supporters riots,” says van Galen.
John Rep gives numbers
Another nice anecdote is that Barry van Galen will be scouting for AZ at Heerenveen. He takes Piet Keur with him and there they meet John Rep. Rep has to give figures for De Telegraaf. It’s quite fun and the numbers are created in a special way…
