Baketball Bundesliga: Bonn submits, Braunschweig wins in the basement duel

Thanks to their twelfth league win in a row, Telekom Baskets Bonn have defended their lead in the Bundesliga. In the basement duel of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), the Löwen Braunschweig won against bottom Bayreuth.

The leader won the EWE Baskets Oldenburg on Saturday (April 8th, 2023) with 87:76 (35:39) and is one win ahead of his closest pursuer Alba. The Berliners can follow suit against BG Göttingen on Easter Sunday.

Bonn started the game with two successful threes, but fourth-placed Oldenburg proved to be a stubborn opponent before Bonn pulled away decisively in the final section. The favorite was able to rely on his top scorers Sebastian Herrera and Karsten Tadda (18 points each).

In the BBL basement duel, Braunschweig defeated Bayreuth, bottom of the table, 101:89 (25:19, 24:27, 27:22, 25:21). With the eighth win of the season, the North Germans got some air on Frankfurt in the first relegation zone. David Krämer was the most successful thrower for the hosts with 23 points.

Chemnitz ends a long dry spell

The Niners Chemnitz also had a win. At the Mitteldeutsche BC there was a 76:72 (17:23, 27:13, 20:24, 12:12) for the Niners, who brought a series of eight defeats to an end. Kevin Yebo was the best scorer of the game for Chemnitz with 21 points. As 15th, MBC is still in the middle of the relegation battle.
