The five-time world champion Emma Hinze from Cottbus continues to be in top form at the 135th German Championships in track cycling in Kaarst-Büttgen and has won her third title.

After her successes in the team sprint and time trial, the 24-year-old won the keirin final ahead of world and European champion Lea Sophie Friedrich (RSC Cottbus) and Alessa-Catriona Pröpster (RV Offenbach). Hinze still has a fourth chance for the title in the sprint on Sunday.

In the men’s sprint, Stefan Bötticher from Chemnitz won for the fourth time after 2011, 2012 and 2014. The ex-world champion won the final after going behind with 2-1 runs against 1000-meter champion and defending champion Maximilian Dörnbach (RSC Cottbus). Third place went to Marc Jurczyk (Turbine Erfurt).
