Badalona carries out the first lighting tests of its Christmas ‘super tree’

The city of Badalona has carried out this weekend first lighting tests from his ‘supertree‘ of Christmas which will be completely turned on next Saturday, November 18. The municipality will thus begin the festive season in the Plaza del President Tarradellas, in the Gorg neighborhood.

Last Monday morning the installation work began, which is expected to be completed in the coming days, of the tree 40 meters high15 in diameter, 22 pieces and 82,000 pixel lights. The total height of the structure will be equivalent to an 11-story building. The tree will be the largest in Catalonia, but will compete with the one in Vigo as the tallest in Spain.

The assembly of the gigantic element is carried out by the Ximénez Lighting company, a world leader in the world of decoration and lighting and the same company that installs the Vigo tree. With this tree, Albiol seeks to turn Badalona “into a reference of Christmas in the country“and inaugurate the festive season in Catalonia.

The total cost of installing Christmas lighting and decorations is 1.7 million euroswhich also includes the tree (almost 250,000 euros), and all the activities and events scheduled for Christmas.
