Bad news for VfL Wolfsburg

National soccer player Lena Lattwein has had an operation on her shoulder and can no longer play for VfL Wolfsburg this season.

This was announced by the German champion and Champions League semi-finalist on Tuesday. Lattwein broke his collarbone in the 8-0 win against Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.

According to VfL information, Lattwein’s participation in the World Cup from July 20 to August 20 in Australia and New Zealand is not in jeopardy if the healing process goes according to plan. The 22-year-old midfielder and runner-up in Europe will miss the international matches of the DFB women on Good Friday in the Netherlands and next Tuesday in Nuremberg against Brazil.

For national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, it is already the third EM participant from England 2022, who can no longer play this season due to an injury. In the case of Bayern players Giulia Gwinn (torn cruciate ligament) and Linda Dallmann (ruptured syndesmosis ligament), she did not rule out participating in the World Cup.
