The football season in the NFL has ended early for quarterback Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers.
The 25-year-old needed surgery on his broken index finger on his right throwing hand, the team announced on Tuesday. Herbert suffered the injury on Sunday during the loss against the Denver Broncos (7:24).
With a record of 5:8 wins, the Chargers only have a theoretical chance of participating in the playoffs. On Sunday, Easton Stick took over at the quarterback position.
