About the person injured the night before Friday Ville from Heinola, 22, was asked for additional information. The Winnipeg Jets’ Finnish defenseman will be out of action for 8-12 weeks.

The information was confirmed by the Jets head coach Rick Bowness.

Heinola’s practice match against the Ottawa Senators was abandoned already in the opening set. The Finnish pack fell on his left ankle. The expression was painful, and he couldn’t get into the dressing room on his own.

Supplier Mike McIntyre wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that according to Bowness, Heinola has a fractured ankle.

For now, it is not certain whether the ankle will have to be operated on. However, Heinola flies to Finland to visit her family. He is scheduled to return to Canada as his return to the rink nears.

Heinola is the Jets’ first-round selection from the summer of 2019. He has been looking for a breakthrough on NHL ice for a long time, but has so far played 35 games in the world’s toughest hockey league.

His contract covers the upcoming season.
