Kevin Bleeker has made a painful decision. The only 29-year-old basketball player from Den Helder Suns has been forced to put an end to his career. Injury has made the Alkmaarder decide to stop immediately.
Last summer, Bleeker underwent knee surgery. At that time, he was still playing for Landstede Hammers, but he signed for Den Helder Suns due to medical reasons. During his rehabilitation, however, the complaints returned and he had to be operated on again. “In addition, I am strongly advised not to continue practicing top sports,” says the Suns basketball player.
Now that his basketball career is finally over, Bleeker is focusing on his social career. “I have a master’s degree in Sports Administration from Canisius College in America and I have also gained work experience in the sports marketing & events industry in recent years. I don’t know exactly what I will do yet, but I am looking forward to this new period of start my life!”
Bleeker played a total of eleven games for the Dutch basketball team. He played five years in America at Canisius College. After that he played with the Spanish Navarra, Den Bosch and Landstede Hammers. With the Zwolle club he became national champion of the Netherlands in 2019.
