The Puerto-Rican superstar Bad Bunny has disclosed why he does not lead his upcoming Debí Tirar Más photo world tour through the continental USA. The reason is the massive deportations of the Trump government and the fear that US immigration authorities (ICE) could appear before his shows.

Residency in Puerto Rico

“There were many reasons why I didn’t appear in the USA, and none of them were hate – I played there many times, all shows were successful, everyone was great,” said Bad Bunny in an interview with Suzy Exposito. “But there was this problem: damn ICE officials could stand outside the concert. And that was something that really busy us.”

Instead, the musician relied on a large concert series in his home country this summer. Since mid-July, he played 30 shows as part of his “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” residency in San Juan, which ends on September 14th. For Bad Bunny it was a conscious decision: fans from all over the world – including many from the USA – were able to travel to Puerto Rico to see him.

“Puerto Rico is an integrated US territory. People from the United States can come here. Latinos and Puerto Ricaner from the USA could also travel-or see me all over the world,” he said.

Criticism of ICE and Trump

In June, Bad Bunny had already documented a alleged raid by ICE in Puerto Rico in an Instagram video and insulted the authorities as “sons”. The singer publicly expressed his aversion to Donald Trump’s immigration policy several times.

His world tour is now starting on November 21st in Santo Domingo. By the end of February there are numerous dates in Latin America. In the spring of 2026, concerts will follow in Europe, Sydney and Tokyo. In December 2025, eight shows were planned in the Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, ten appearances in Madrid in June 2026.
