Back from being away: Kickboxing event Glory on November 5 again in Amsterdam

For the first time in four years, Glory, one of the largest kickboxing events in the world, returns to Amsterdam. At the press conference in North the fighters got together for the first time tonight. The card includes three Amsterdam fighters, who all only started at Glory this year.

On November 5, the kickboxers will enter the ring. Where the last Glory event was organized in the Johan Cruijff Arena, this year it will take place in Sporthallen Zuid.

on the map of Glory Rivals 3 are three Amsterdammers who have fought their first two matches under the martial arts organization this year. Ibrahim El Bouni, Jay Overmeer and Abderrahman Barkouc got off to a good start; all three have not lost yet.

El Bouni last fought in Amsterdam in 2014. He mainly grew up under the Asian kickboxing organization One Championschip. So now he is fighting in his own city for the first time in a long time.

His match against Muhammed Balli is at the top of the map. If El Bouni wins that fight, the chance of a title fight is a lot bigger. He himself tries not to think about that for the time being: “For now I focus on Balli, if there is a title fight after that, he will come. If not, then not,” said El Bouni during the press conference.

Barkouch and Overmeer

Heavyweight Abderrahman Barkouch also says he is ready for it. Barkouch fights Tariq Osaro, a 27-year-old Nigerian who trains in Oostzaan Mike’s Gym.

And then Jay Overmeer, who also started his first Glory fights well: he won both fights by technical knockout. Overmeer faces Robin Ciric, who then makes his debut as a Glory fighter.
