On July 1, 2022, the trading company BabyOne, based in Münster, took over the baby specialty store Kinnings Babythings in Munich on Ottobrunner Strasse.
The store is currently undergoing renovations and is scheduled to reopen on August 4th. On 1,000 square meters, the specialist market offers prams, child seats, home textiles, baby and children’s clothing and furniture. BabyOne already has two specialist stores in the Munich area, in Karlsfeld and Brunnthal, which are run by franchisee Djan Walsh. The 56-year-old will also manage the store at Ottobrunner Strasse 6 in Munich’s Ramersdorf district. “With the new location right in Munich, a big dream of mine has come true,” says Walsh.
The BabyOne franchise company, a family business from Münster, will be operating its 105th specialist store in the DACH region from August. All Kinnings Babythings employees will be retained.
Like all BabyOne specialist stores, the store in Munich is also connected to the online shop Babyone.de. Since 2020, BabyOne has set the course for a complete realignment of the business model away from purely stationary business and towards an omnichannel company. BabyOne is the market leader in the DACH region and operates 29 of its own specialist stores, 76 locations are managed by franchisees. The trading company employs 1,300 people across the organization.
