“Around 2:30 in the morning, a three-storey hotel was destroyed in Zolotchiv by two hits of S-300 rockets from the Russian occupying forces,” Synegoubov wrote on social media. “A two-month-old child is dead. Three women are injured and in hospital.” The child’s mother is among the injured.
A total of seven houses, nineteen shops, cafes or kiosks, and two local administrative buildings were damaged. Zolotchiv is a small city north of Kharkiv, 25 kilometers from the border with Russia. Before the Russian invasion in 2022, it had a population of 8,000.
Further south, in the Kherson region, the body of a 59-year-old man was found under the rubble of a building hit by another Russian attack, the local prosecutor said. The Russian Defense Ministry, for its part, reported that it repelled an attack with Ukrainian drones in the Belgorod border region last night.
