Baby found dead in Helvoirt: parents remain in custody for two weeks

The parents of the deceased baby who was found on Monday in a home in Helvoirt will remain in custody for two weeks longer. This is reported by the Public Prosecution Service. The 34-year-old mother and the 39-year-old father were arrested on Monday evening because they may have played a role in the boy’s death.

The Public Prosecution Service takes into account that the boy did not receive the necessary care that a baby needs. According to the Public Prosecution Service, this is due to the circumstances in which the baby was found. Furthermore, the Public Prosecution Service reports that the cause of death of the boy has not yet been determined and that an investigation is underway.

The baby was resuscitated in the house on Schoorstraat in the Brabant village, but died on Monday afternoon.
